Sigmoidoscopy: How to prepare and what to expect  
Abstract:  This handout gives instructions to follow when preparing for a sigmoidoscopy, a test that allows the doctor to look at the lining of the last part of the large intestine or colon. A small flexible tube called a sigmoidoscope is placed into the rectum for this test.
