Abstract:  This handout is a print-out of the slides used in an orientation class for prospective heart transplant recipients at University of Washington Medical Center. It gives basic information about the medicines needed after receiving a heart transplant, and discusses insurance options for paying for the drugs. Sections of the slideshow include: Pre-Transplant Planning, In the Hospital, When You Leave the Hospital, Immunosuppressive Medicines, Other Prescription Medicines, Non-Prescription Medicines, and For Your Follow-up Clinic Visits.
