Abstract:  This handout, called a CareMap, shows what a patient may expect when scheduled for mastectomy surgery with tissue expander at University of Washington Medical Center. It covers how to get ready for the surgery, what to expect on the day of surgery and during the hospital stay, and self-care for 4 weeks after discharge.
