Abstract

This handout is for parents of a baby who has been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). It explains the unexpected feelings that may arise when the baby is finally able to come home, and talks about anxiety, bonding and attachment, chronic sorrow, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
