Abstract

This handout is for patients who have been placed on a fluid-restricted diet. It gives basic guidelines and a list of foods that should be counted as part of fluid intake. It includes a table to help with measuring fluids and tips to help with fluid control. This information is especially helpful for patients with heart conditions or heart failure.
