This handout, called a CareMap, shows what a patient may expect during their hospital stay when admitted to University of Washington Medical Center for laparoscopic gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy surgery. It covers what to do before surgery day, what to expect while in the hospital, preparing for discharge, and self-care for 2 weeks after surgery.
