This guidebook will guide you through the weight loss and metabolic surgery process, from being referred to long-term care after surgery. It includes criteria for being accepted for weight loss surgery and descriptions of the 2 types of surgery offered at UWMC: divided proximal roux-y gastric bypass or RYGB, and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. It also describes pre-surgery tests, and what to expect before, during, and after surgery. It also offer resources and websites to access for more information about weight loss surgery.
